Lion Green Road Coulsdon Wins RIBA Sterling Prize 2026

We’re so proud to have played our part in this innovative project, acting as CDM principal designer and clerk of works.

Lion Green Road is a landscape-led, meticulously designed and unique five-block pavilion style development. Ranging across 5-7 storeys with 157 new homes, the project was developed on the sloping site of a local authority-owned car park and was effortlessly integrated within the verdant landscape. It combines privately-owned and socially rented homes, offering a fully accessible landscape, children’s play area, sensory trail and residents’ allotments.

Adjoining a historic railway embankment to the rear, a significant relic of the Surrey Iron Railway, the project was also at the forefront of responses to new Building Regulations, creating an example of best practice for buildings over 18m through careful material specification.
