University of Leicester - Percy Gee East Wing

We are delighted that our project Percy Gee East Wing at Leicester University has been shortlisted in the Construction Project of the Year category of the East Midlands Property Awards 2021.

Situated in the heart of the University Campus, the refurbishment of the existing Percy Gee East Wing provides a link between the atria space already situated in the Students Union and the recently completed Fielding Johnson Square.

Works comprised a three storey vertical extension to the existing East Wing together with extensive refurbishment of the ground and lower ground floors to create an expanded food court. The new upper floors provide additional teaching, learning and computer facilities, together with Student Union offices, social activity and meeting space.

The Scheme has been designed to achieve BREEAM Very Good.

MDA acted as Cost Consultant to Leicester University.
