Description
Repair and restoration of Grade 1 listed, Scheduled Ancient Monument and UNESCO World Heritage building, including repair and restoration of the West Towers and Nave and the historic Precinct entrance of Christ Church Gate.
A new Welcome Centre with café and community space, together with improved interpretation, signage, landscaped precincts and enhanced access, Learning, Volunteering and Activity Plan programmes.
The works were carried out whilst the Cathedral remained open to the public, which required complex phasing and extensive temporary protection works including crash deck.
