Living Wetlands Theatre, Slimbridge

Description

A new Living Wetlands Theatre, inside a large modern aviary. A large glass fronted tank with diving ducks forms the backdrop to the theatre stage which also provides a multi-purpose space for visiting speakers, wildlife films and events.

The project included the redevelopment and restoration of Scott House, the former home of Sir Peter Scott, and conversion of the ground floor into a museum and the first floor into luxury holiday lets. The existing pool room has been converted into a suite of flexible meeting rooms.

The project also included the replacement of the existing 1970’s Holden Tower with a new 9m high viewing tower with picture windows and a rooftop terrace to view the wildlife more closely.
